MYOVIEW Dipyridamole Pharmacologic Stress Protocol
Vital signs and a 12-lead ECG need to be monitored before, during, and after the infusion. Dipyridamole is infused through an intravenous catheter at a rate of 0.56 mg/kg of body weight over 4 minutes to a maximum total dose of 60 mg. MYOVIEW can be administered by bolus injection 3 to 4 minutes following completion of the infusion or earlier if the patient has evidence of ischemia by symptoms or profound ECG changes. Intravenous aminophylline can be administered if the patient has severe evidence of ischemia or intolerable side effects. To maintain maximal coronary vasodilatation and extraction of the MYOVIEW, an effort should be made if the patient is clinically stable to wait at least 1 to 2 minutes after radiopharmaceutical injection to reverse the effects of the dipyridamole by giving aminophylline. |
